FAQ's
May I sign up for more than one course at a time?
Yes, you may opt to take more than one course at a time as long as they are within the same experience level. You may not proceed to advanced courses without having a minimum of fifty practice sessions of the beginning level course.
How long does it take to get through the Beginner's Seated Ashiatsu course?
If you live in one of the locations we teach in (Tucson, San Clemente, or Salt Lake City), we recommend two 2-hour lessons per week for two weeks in a row.
How long will it take to get through all the courses?
Each individual progresses through the levels at their own pace. Completing a course within a level and practicing it at least several times per week for several weeks is necessary to progress.
Am I able to take Advanced courses if I didn't take a Beginner's course with SAMBA?
During a consultation either by phone or email correspondence, we will determine if additional lesson time will be necessary to add to the course hours you want to take.
Is it possible for me and a therapist friend to take a course together?
Yes, you may schedule with the location instructor to accommodate all of your schedules and coordinate dates and times.
Do I need to have bars installed to take a course?
Bars are not necessary to have installed for Beginner’s Seated Ashiatsu or Advanced Seated Ashiatsu, however, if you want to continue your Ashiatsu practice and include standing techniques and work beyond the upper torso, then bars are necessary. You will need a barstool  for all courses, and we do offer them for sale on the website.
Do I have to receive Ashiatsu in my lessons, and if so, who will be working on me?
Yes, it is mandatory that all students receive each and every technique they learn. The location instructor will allot the necessary time in each lesson to demonstrate the techniques learned that lesson for you.
I'm not a licensed therapist, can I still take Ashiatsu lessons?
You may take Ashiatsu lessons with us as long as you have completed 300 hours of massage school and/or have current practice with draping techniques, at least ten hours of anatomy and physiology, and are working toward getting your diploma and/or license.
